Council is looking for volunteers to coordinate things when disaster hits in Rathdowney, or the local districts. The want Community Disaster Volunteers to work with the Scenic Rim Local Disaster Management Group, and:
- gather information
- monitor how things are going
- promote disaster preparedness
- assist with projects, and with operating shelters or recovery hubs
- support community activities during or after events.
You need to have time to attend training, and be prepared to play an active role before, during and after events. You will also need to have, or obtain, a Working with Children (Blue) card.
