We’ve ordered a new rake for the tractor, which will make it easier to maintain the arena surface. Thank you to Rachelle and Andrew for their work organising the purchase. This purchase was agreed at the July general meeting, and upgrades the equipment we have on hand to look after the grounds.
The TESLA battery was installed at the canteen during the week. I’ve been watching it for a few days, and it’s doing a great job. For the last two days the solar system has covered all our electricity costs, even the supply charge. If the sunny weather holds it looks like we won’t get powerContinue reading “The battery is working for us!”
Scott Buccholz MP accepted an invitation last week to visit the grounds and inspect the defibrillator we purchased recently with a subsidy from the Australian government. Scott spent time at the grounds, looking at the canteen solar system and listening to our plans for future development. He is interested in plans for development of theContinue reading “Scott Buccholz visits”
Friday fun. A clipping from the Beaudesert Times in 1952. The ladies of the district preparing for the Rathdowney Campdraft. The age-old dilemma of comforting the inner man. There is still much to be done.
The RACQ Foundation have generously provided funds for the RMGA to purchase a solar battery (TESLA Powerwall 2), and to improve internet access at the grounds. The battery, connected to our canteen solar system, will eliminate one electricity bill for the grounds, and give us independent supply during grid failures. We continue to work withContinue reading “RACQ Foundation support”
The RMGA has purchased a fully automatic defibrillator for the Rathdowney Caravan Park. This purchase was aided by the Australian Government’s Caravan Park Defibrillator Subsidy, which contributed $1000.00 towards the cost of purchase. Delivery is anticipated over the next week, and installation as soon as the most suitable location is decided.
Since the solar meter was installed in March, we’ve been getting some good information about how things are going! In short, we generate heaps of power, but we don’t get paid much for it. Look at March for example: So far, we’ve produced more electricity than we use. In March our generation (green, kWh) wasContinue reading “Solar news!”
And the markets are on! The pony club is mustering, and it’s Round 4 of the football competition. All the best everyone! Don’t forget the general meeting next Sunday, 23 May at 3.00pm, at the Grounds.
Keep an eye out for an email about your member details! I’m doing a yearly check. It’s not the most exciting Secretary activity, but important. I’ve had a few emails ‘bounce back’ recently. Mostly addresses from Hotmail and Outlook. I have asked LitteDogIT (our web hosters) to check this for me. In the meantime, IContinue reading “Housekeeping”
