Taking Time
This morning Ian and I ran the “Time for a Cuppa” event at the markets, and enjoyed serving coffee and cake to everyone who dropped in. Many people took advantage of the offer, and the cool breeze under the pagoda. Some stayed for a long while and chatted. Several mentioned how useful they found it.
Solar at the caravan park
Our application to the Gambling Community Benefit Fund (Round 110) was successful, and we have been offered $30, 000 to install a solar system with a TESLA battery at the caravan park. This system should reduce the bill at the park by $5, 000/annum, making these funds available for other RMGA activities. Thank you toContinue reading “Solar at the caravan park”

Equipment to maintain the arena
We’ve ordered a new rake for the tractor, which will make it easier to maintain the arena surface. Thank you to Rachelle and Andrew for their work organising the purchase. This purchase was agreed at the July general meeting, and upgrades the equipment we have on hand to look after the grounds.
The battery is working for us!
The TESLA battery was installed at the canteen during the week. I’ve been watching it for a few days, and it’s doing a great job. For the last two days the solar system has covered all our electricity costs, even the supply charge. If the sunny weather holds it looks like we won’t get powerContinue reading “The battery is working for us!”
Scott Buccholz visits
Scott Buccholz MP accepted an invitation last week to visit the grounds and inspect the defibrillator we purchased recently with a subsidy from the Australian government. Scott spent time at the grounds, looking at the canteen solar system and listening to our plans for future development. He is interested in plans for development of theContinue reading “Scott Buccholz visits”

Friday fun. A clipping from the Beaudesert Times in 1952. The ladies of the district preparing for the Rathdowney Campdraft. The age-old dilemma of comforting the inner man. There is still much to be done.
